Making sustainability work for you

‘Green’ is a strategy to increase profitability and asset value by lowering both operating costs AND carbon footprint.  As the environmental impact of buildings becomes more apparent, the field of Green Building is gaining momentum. Research and experience increasingly demonstrate that when buildings are designed and operated with their lifecycle impacts in mind, they can provide great economic, marketability, and environmental benefits.

Cooper Oates Air Conditioning has been involved in Green Building Design at many levels since the inception of the field. We have been the HVAC designer of record for multiple Green Building projects. On a typical building the HVAC systems can account for up to 70% of the building's energy consumption. For this reason, designing an energy efficient system that exceeds the latest energy codes and ASHRAE Standard 90.1 can dramatically reduce the energy consumed by the building.

A few of some recent projects COAC has been involved with that are certified or obtaining LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certification by the USGBC (United States Green Building Council) are the following:

  • Travis Air Force Base Large Crash Fire Station - designed for LEED Silver certification
  • Rancho Cordova Police Headquarters: Offices and Holding Cells - Certified LEED Silver

Our staff of LEED AP certified personnel is very knowledgeable in Green Building Design and works very closely with our professional engineer in the early phases of any project. With COAC’s team involved upfront during the design of the building, we can minimize the installation cost, maximize the efficiency, and provide ROI-boosting solutions to a more sustainable HVAC design.

Cooper Oates Air Conditioning will work with you to make sustainability work for you.
