Cooper Oates HVAC and Plumbing Teams Collaborate on Large-Scale Tenant Buildout

In early 2024 Cooper Oates was awarded a number of fast-paced construction projects giving us a very busy start to the new year. One of our more challenging projects in 2024 was a tenant buildout for a new Habitat Health medical facility: a Kaiser-partnered care and rehab facility for the low-income elderly including medical treatment and social care.

This demanding and fast-paced project, which included the installation of new domestic plumbing, ductwork, and building controls, provided a great example of our team rising to the challenge despite difficult circumstances.

Project Challenges​

Time Constraints Call for Hustle & Creativity

Our main challenge was to complete the project in a very limited amount of time so the​ customer could meet their accreditation deadlines. The duct plans ​did not sufficiently accommodate the structural challenges of the existing building, and the specified mechanical units were not available in the time required.

Utilizing both our HVAC and plumbing construction teams, we knew this large-scale project would tax us with these challenges. However, we saw this as a great opportunity to demonstrate our best qualities: our teamwork, creativity, and hustle. We were determined not to let these difficult circumstances stop us from a successful end result.
